In the official IOC press release, President Thomas Bach expressed how crucial and timely it was to showcase role models to the next generations of youth and emphasized the importance of the work done by Arab Excellence in the region to inspire and empower young generations.

Here is an extract of a press release by President Thomas Bach:

“It is important to have role models to look up to in order to inspire the next generations of youth. His desire to have a positive impact on his community is what induced Hamza Chraibi to create Arab Excellence, a non-profit organization.

Hamza created a platform that sheds light on personal achievements of role models originally from the Arab World, including several sport champions. This platform provides youth with advice and best practices to take charge of their future (in terms of career/life aspiration) and take an active role in shaping it.

Hamza is part of a group of Young Ambassadors from around the world who are supported by the IOC and are committed to live according to the Olympic Values in driving young people to take action and become agents in setting and achieving their goals.

The IOC supports the work of 206 National Olympic Committees around the globe in addition to that of young leaders like Hamza as they set examples that show how sport can be used to impact communities.

Through their remarkable initiatives, they instill in today’s youth hope and faith in their ability to achieve their dreams and their goals. In Morocco, they are perpetuating the heritage of pioneers like Nawale El Moutawakeel and Hicham El Guerrouj. They provide todays’ young generation with self-confidence and hope for their future.”
